Surprised by World Events?

Most of us didn’t see a global pandemic coming our way. Lockdowns, forced work from home, race riots, forced homeschooling, and the list goes on and on. There’s simply too much to do. With all the rapid changes you didn’t see coming, you may be feeling stuck or even helpless, trapped, or replace these words with whatever you’re feeling right now. The changes may also be wreaking havoc with your mental health. Nothing to feel embarrassed about. Many are experiencing the exact same thing.

You’re ready to throw in the towel. Before you take any drastic action, remember this, there’s always a creative solution to every problem. You just don’t know what it is yet. Creativity, Innovation, and the Art of Getting Ideas can help you. Mark Cuban - billionaire, owner of Dallas Maverick, Shark on Shark Tank - once said that creativity is the one skill you need to succeed. I wouldn’t go that far, but it’s a fundamental skill that contributes to success. The World Economic Forum reports that creativity, innovation, originality, ideation, problem solving, critical thinking, and showing initiative are among the skills you need to thrive in 2025. Do you have these skills? All these skills are related. Developing a practice of getting ideas, analyzing and applying them is a skill to master. This course will help.

You Can Triumph Over the Changes

Take a minute to think about the most successful people you know of - Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Corcoran, Elon Musk, Mark Cuban. Do you see or hear them worrying about their businesses? The changes are bad, they really are. But these masters/mistresses of enterprises know how to generate ideas to get out of any difficult situation. And that’s what I want for you.

They don’t panic, they take deliberate action. They find solutions to what ails them.

When I first learned about the pandemic, I panicked because I’m high risk. But then I read information from respected sources to learn how to stay safe. The next step was to see how to be part of the solution. I hosted a few complimentary Digest 30 Books in 30 Days reading challenges. The intent was for participants to get a pool of ideas to change their situation. In doing that act, I was reminded of the importance of developing a practice of generating ideas.

People who earn a lot of money talk about ideas being currency. My thinking is that if an ordinary person could learn idea generating models, then they wouldn’t feel so vulnerable or helpless when confronted with rapid changes. And can take back some control of their lives.

I’ve been using idea generating models for years now and have evolved them along the way. That’s why I realized that I didn’t have to panic after the pandemic hit. I had tools I could use to find solutions to pivot my business.

Creativity, Innovation, and the Art of Getting Ideas gives you processes to come up with a steady pool of ideas. Not all of your ideas will be a hit. But if you keep at it, you’ll likely find that one idea that can transform your life.

At the end of Creativity, Innovation, and the Art of Getting Ideas, if you’ve done the exercise, you’ll:

  • -Know what an idea is and how to spot it.
  • -Have a daily practice in place for you to encounter more ideas.
  • -Learn how to make ideas bigger and better and tie them to a human need/hot button.
  • -Understand the importance of applying the ideas so you can profit from them.
  • -Start getting idea after idea like the most highly accomplished people.

In a changing environment, ideas are bankable, therefore, you want to have a pool of them to apply. Not all of them will be good, but even if you find one bankable idea out of 100, you're leaps and bounds ahead of the game. When you get ideas, you'll learn how to make them bigger and better and tie them to a hot button.

Several of the books I'll introduce you to will be new to you. To have a competitive advantage, it makes no sense to be only reading bestsellers, because that's what your peers will be doing. Instead, you want to get what I call insider information. And that's good information that the majority don't have. You get insider information from a few of these books. In this course, you'll discover several idea generation models to add to your toolkit. You get to play with them to determine which ones you like best. If you like them all, you can take turns using each of them.

And you won’t have to be scared of change. You’ll know how to solve your own problems if you know how to generate ideas. At least in most instances.

You want to be able to provide solutions to problems that matter. Being able to generate idea after idea is a skill that you MUST master. This course will help with that. What I've also done, as an illustration for you, is to combine the information from the nine books presented in this course. The activity fills in the gaps in your knowledge relating to getting ideas. Are you ready to develop a pool of ideas?

Now, you may be thinking that you don’t need this course. Maybe you don’t. But maybe you do.

-How many times have you read a book that had great information and wasn’t sure what to do next? If you understood the idea generation process, then you would have an idea of what to do next.

-Have you ever been in a position where you had to get up to speed on a subject, but felt overwhelmed by the information to take in. Understanding the idea generation process and how to pick out the big ideas can help you. You’ll know what to focus on.

-Have you ever been in a situation when forced change decimated your industry, or even business? Knowing how to generate ideas will allow you to pivot or decide on what’s next for you.

It doesn’t matter what tight situation you find yourself in, knowing how to get ideas will give you more options at your fingertips.

Creativity, Innovation, and the Art of Getting Ideas

I am introvert, idea person, a reader and I enjoyed Avil's Bookish Notes from a variety of authors. I applied what I learned in Technique for Producing Ideas by James Webb Young to solve a business problem I have. I enjoyed the structure of the Bookish Note, her summary of the book and her insights.
