With all the rapid changes you didn’t see coming, you may be feeling stuck or even helpless, trapped, or replace these words with whatever you’re feeling right now. The changes may also be wreaking havoc with your mental health. Nothing to feel embarrassed about. Many are experiencing the exact same thing.
You’re ready to throw in the towel. Before you take any drastic action, remember this, there’s always a creative solution to every problem. You just don’t know what it is yet. You Can Triumph Over the Changes
Take a minute to think about the most successful people you know of - Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Corcoran, Elon Musk, Mark Cuban. Do you see or hear them worrying about their businesses? The changes are bad, they really are. But these masters/mistresses of enterprises know how to generate ideas to get out of any difficult situation. And that’s what I want for you.
They don’t panic, they take deliberate action. They find solutions to what ails them.
When I first learned about the pandemic, I panicked because I’m high risk. But then I read information from respected sources to learn how to stay safe. The next step was to see how to be part of the solution. I hosted a few complimentary Digest 30 Books in 30 Days reading challenges. The intent was for participants to get a pool of ideas to change their situation. In doing that act, I was reminded of the importance of developing a practice of generating ideas.
People who earn a lot of money talk about ideas being currency. My thinking is that if an ordinary person could learn idea generating models, then they wouldn’t feel so vulnerable or helpless when confronted with rapid changes. And can take back some control of their lives.
I’ve been using idea generating models for years now and have evolved them along the way. That’s why I realized that I didn’t have to panic after the pandemic hit. I had tools I could use to find solutions to pivot my business.
Creativity, Innovation, and the Art of Getting Ideas gives you processes to come up with a steady pool of ideas. Not all of your ideas will be a hit. But if you keep at it, you’ll likely find that one idea that can transform your life.
At the end of Creativity, Innovation, and the Art of Getting Ideas, if you’ve done the exercise, you’ll:

Creativity, Innovation, and the Art of Getting Ideas
I am introvert, idea person, a reader and I enjoyed Avil's Bookish Notes from a variety of authors. I applied what I learned in Technique for Producing Ideas by James Webb Young to solve a business problem I have. I enjoyed the structure of the Bookish Note, her summary of the book and her insights.
